Commercialbank Qatar Masters

Doha gets ready for the Friday entertainment

Spectators watching the third round of the Commercial Bank Masters on Friday will enjoy special evening entertainment this year as UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey headline the evening’s entertainment at Doha Golf Club.

Following the end of play, the legendary reggae band will perform live in Qatar for the first time and can expect a massive turnout at the tournament’s Public Village following the huge crowds that watched last year’s concerts.

Formed in 1978, the band have sold over 70 million records worldwide and were nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times. During an impressive three-decade career, they performed sell-out shows around the world, with hit singles including ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ and ‘I Got You Babe’.

Adam Baluch, a one-man band, will kick-off the evening’s entertainment. Using a loop station, trumpet and guitar among other instruments, the UAE-born musician has been making waves on the region’s gigging circuits for years and can expect a great reception.

Off-course entertainment during the day includes the popular Golf Trick Shot Boys; a range of sports including mini basketball, mini tennis, mini golf and mini soccer; free lessons at the Qatar Golf Academy display; a taste of the world with gourmet food on offer; and the Shopping Boulevard with a wide selection of merchandise on sale.

World No. 2 Henrik Stenson, World No. 5 Justin Rose, World No. 6 Sergio Garcia and four-time Major winner Ernie Els are among the star players in this year’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, which teed off on Wednesday.
