With the first tournament along The European Tour's 'Desert Swing' wrapped up in Abu Dhabi Sunday, all eyes have turned to Doha, as Commercial Bank Qatar Masters week kicks off.
Many of the golfers made the short flight from Abu Dhabi to Doha Sunday night, and by early Monday, the range at Doha Golf Club was filled with practicing golfers. First round play will begin Wednesday morning, just two days from now.
Following the results in Abu Dhabi, the World Golf Rankings have been updated, and this year's tournament includes No. 4 Justin Rose (fresh off of his second-place finish in the UAE), No. 5 Louis Oosthuizen (who began 2013 with a win in South Africa two weeks ago), No. 11 Jason Dufner, No. 18 Peter Hanson, No. 19 Sergio Garcia and No. 23 Ernie Els.
This week's schedule will include:
Monday, January 21 - Official practice day
Tuesday, January 22 - Pro-Am golf event and pro-am gala dinner
Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday - January 24 - First and second round of play
Friday, January 25 - Third round of play and evening entertainment, featuring Grammy Award-nominated artist Natasha Bedingfield
