Paul Casey, a former World Number Three, led his Commercial Bank of Qatar team to victory in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Pro-Am held on Tuesday at the Doha Golf Club.
Casey was the pro for 'CBQ4' - one of six teams representing title sponsor Commercial Bank of Qatar - and the 11-time European Tour winner teamed up with Dean Proctor, Fazal Kazi and Nicholas Dent to record an impressive score of 29-under par to win by five strokes.
A Doha Golf Club team featuring English pro Simon Dyson, a Carpetland team featuring Alexander Noren of Sweden and a St Regis Hotel team featuring Thomas Bjorn, a 13-time winner on The European Tour, all shared second place with a score of 24-under-par. Prizes were awarded at a lavish Pro-Am Dinner hosted by Official Hotel of the tournament, St Regis Hotel, Doha.
The Pro-Am, which featured 39 teams, is the traditional curtain-raiser for the star-studded European Tour event, which will tee-off on a Wednesday for the first time and finish on Saturday.
