Several of Qatar’s most promising young golfers enjoyed a five-star clinic courtesy of the best players in the world at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters today (Saturday).
Superstars Lee Westwood, Jason Day, Graeme McDowell, Hunter Mahan and Henrik Stenson delighted the youngsters and their families by passing on some of their own personal golfing tips on the penultimate day of the $2.5 million tournament at Doha Golf Club,
With trick shot specialist Jeremy Dale as Master of Ceremonies, the five golfing giants treated the youngsters – all representing the Qatar Golf Association’s junior programme – to an entertaining clinic that also included a display of the players’ own brand of shot making with different clubs.
The players showed their fun side by taking on Dale’s challenge of driving a ball from a special metre long tee – a challenge which had mixed results with Westwood, McDowell and Stenson all sending the ball well down the range, while Mahan and Day struggled to connect cleanly.
Organised by the Qatar Golf Association (QGA) in collaboration with the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and title sponsor The Commercial Bank of Qatar, the 2012 Commercialbank Qatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy comes to a climax tomorrow (Sunday) with entrance free of charge to the general public.
